Starting in April 2012, the Harborcreek Township Emergency Response Unit began assisting the three fire departments in Harborcreek township (22-Harborcreek, 24-Brookside & 26-Fairfield) with emergency responses during daytime hours. The team consists of township employees trained to a minimum of first responder and fireground support levels with some members possessing EMT certification and interior firefighting qualifications.

Unit 237 is routinely used for code enforcement duties or is housed at the township building. When requested the team responds with their vehicle to either the scene of an emergency or to one of the township's fire stations where they staff or even drive apparatus.

As of August 2014, the unit is licensed as a PA DOH Quick Response Service.
