Public Safety Radio System
In October 2019, the Erie County Department of Public Safety placed a long overdue new radio system in place across the county. The system was based on a digital trunked Project 25 Phase II technology and is reported to provide 95% coverage across the county.

The county is divided into 5 zones with each zone occupying it's own talkgroup with 1 dispatch channel and 2-4 tactical channels. With the exception of the City of Erie who is dispatched directly on the Erie Dispatch talkgroup, the primarily volunteer departments in the county are dispatched via simulcast analog frequencies which are programmed into personal pagers. There is one paging channel for the Millcreek Zone and another for West, East and South. A map of the zones and table of departments assigned to each zone is below.
A list of specific talkgroups and programming frequncies can be found on RadioReference.
